Tuesday, August 25, 2015 Yesterday, 37-year old IndyCar Series driver Justin Wilson died of injuries sustained on Sunday during the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. With about twenty laps remaining in the race, Sage Karam, who had been leading the event, crashed into the turn 1 wall. As Wilson approached the site of the crash, reportedly the nose cone from Karam’s car that had been airborne struck Wilson in the helmet; Wilson’s car steered to the left and collided with the inside SAFER barrier. The event was placed under the caution flag as safety workers extracted Wilson from his car. Wilson was airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. At 9 P.M. It was seized in international waters, about 20 miles (30 kilometers) from Gaza’s shore. The military said its forces boarded ship from the sea, not helicopters and didn’t meet any resistance. The Metropolitan Police — the police force for the Greater London area — has announced they may sell their headquarters, New Scotland Yard, in order to cut costs. They are trying to reduce their £3.6 billion annual budget by £500 million, following cuts by the coalition government. If the sale of New Scotland Yard goes ahead, the Metropolitan Police would move to a new location on the Embankment in the Curtis Green building, formerly the site of Cannon Row Police Station. Other proposals have been raised including selling off other property assets and closing police counters during off-peak hours, but officer numbers are to be maintained. New Scotland Yard famously has a three-sided rotating sign that turns 14,000 times per day.
